A fan game for Gothic II – Night of the Raven

Fifteen minutes, one horde, one hero. Fight your way from Onar's Fields to the Halls of Irdorath – with the worlds, monsters, voices and music from your own Gothic II.

Play

Free, in your browser or for Windows

You need Gothic II – Night of the Raven from Steam or GOG. The game reads the files from your Gothic folder. It contains none of them itself, and nothing is uploaded.

The Road to Irdorath Seven regions on the main path, each with three bosses. On top of that come quest regions that only open up through the quest lines.

What it's about

You run, the horde comes. Your attacks fire on their own; you decide where to go and which ability to take at every level-up. A boss appears after five, ten and fifteen minutes; once the last one falls, the region is cleared.

Between runs, Orlan's tavern is your camp: traders, teachers, guests with tasks and companions who come along with you. At level 10 you join the militia, the mercenaries or the monastery; at level 20 you become a paladin, a dragon hunter or a mage of your school.

Browser or Windows

In the browser

Open the game page and choose your Gothic II folder once. Chrome and Edge remember the folder; Firefox and Safari ask again every time you start. Your save stays in your browser.

On Windows

The Windows version finds Gothic II by itself (Steam, GOG) and only asks if it can't. It also runs without internet. On first start, Windows warns about an unknown publisher: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”.

Updates arrive by themselves: in the browser the next time you load the page, on Windows the next time you start it with internet.

To move your saves, use “Save game to file” and “Load game from file” on the title screen: a file from the browser can be loaded on Windows and vice versa.

Direct download: Installer (83 MB) or ZIP (112 MB).

Where is my Gothic II folder?

This means the main folder that contains Data and _work.

Steam: …\Steam\steamapps\common\Gothic II. In your library, right-click Gothic II, then “Manage” and “Browse local files”.
GOG: usually C:\GOG Games\Gothic 2 Gold.

Only the original files are read. Mods in the same folder don't get in the way.

Questions

How much does it cost?

Nothing. Morgrad Survivors is a hobby project with no ads and no in-game purchases.

What gets transmitted?

Nothing about you. The site only loads the game itself; Gothic files and your save stay on your computer. No cookies, no tracking pixels. More under Privacy.

Does it run on a phone?

No. It needs a keyboard and mouse, and the Gothic files on the same computer.

Do I need internet?

In the browser, to load the page. The Windows version runs entirely without it and fetches updates when you're online.

What language is the game in?

German, English, Polish, Russian, Czech and Ukrainian – switch on the title screen. Names, dialogue and voices come from your Gothic, so they are in the language of your installation.
